Nice combo I've been watching the site for a while and have done a similar build that I am planning on posting, with the Linux on the 2019 Stealth, an Akitio Node and a watercooled GTX 1080. We now have a wide selection of enclosures and set up solutions for three major operating systems. It's very encouraging to see progress for eGPU in Linux. Here are some screen captures of this software using the 2019 Blade Stealth + Core X Chroma. That means multiple versions of Synapse would be running to fully live the RGB fantasy. While the 2019 Blade Stealth is compatible, the older versions aren't so you'd need an older Synapse version. As soon as that was done the Razer Core X Chroma asked me to install Razer Synapse 3 software to control the lighting on this enclosure as well as compatible Chroma systems and peripherals. The system prompted me to authorize the connected Thunderbolt device. Steam Play also makes gaming in Linux much more accessible. I was able to get the eGPU to power a Samsung monitor at full resolution. All three graphics cards were detected as seen. I used script to set the RX Vega 64 LC eGPU up and it was as easy as copy and paste. Therefore we have Xorg config script or a GUI solution to simplify this process. Getting the Thunderbolt 3 eGPU connected is no problem in Linux but getting monitor output and making use of it can be a challenge. Razer Core X Chroma + RX Vega 64 Liquid Cooling +. Windows is too messy with Thunderbolt Control Center/Intel Thunderbolt Software while macOS is too low-key with no notification at all.ΔΆ019 Razer Blade Stealth - i7-8565U/UHD Graphics 620 iGPU & MX 150 dGPU/16GB RAM/256GB SSD In my opinion it's the most intuitive interface for people new to Thunderbolt peripherals. The external GPU enclosure was detected immediately and the system prompted me to authorize the connected TB3 device. I partitioned the internal SSD of the Blade Stealth to dual boot Windows 10 and Ubuntu 19.04. Razer BlackWidow keyboards from 2014 onwards also use cheaper cherry clone switches (which are shortened). With more Linux eGPU solutions made available by forum members, I decided to give this easy-to-use setup script by a try. This forces windows users to use their cloud Synapse drivers which require users to register the device using a account with a email address. Razer use software for all macro functionality. Razer BlackWidow keyboards have no memory to store macros. There is also a udev rule for automatic initialization included. The program requires root access due to using libusb to send to the device over USB. The source code is available on github under MIT license. The init code was taken from the windows drivers using wireshark usb capture. If you really wanted you could also rebind keys to existing keyboard functions using xmodmap. Linux users can then use the keys for macros using tools like xmacro or even just bind the keys to functions, scripts or programs using the window manager. This is a C program which sends the init code from Razer windows proprietary drivers to initialize the 'macro' keys on Razer BlackWidow keyboards on Linux.
